I enjoyed travelling to different countries before covid-19 seeing the beauty of different cultures. During lockdown I would take part in ‘work experience’ companies would host and meet people online from all over UK and complete task with them in anything related with business. For example, creating an ad for Netflix to be put on Spotify. I don’t see ‘work experience’ as work. It’s more like meeting people with the same interest and it is great!
In year 11 I made a decision that I want to move five hours from home to attend sixth form. Being 17 living in university accommodation isn’t common. Living alone I have learnt to be more independent and more responsible for myself in sixth form. I have to organise my life, especially managing money. I am interested in speaking about living independently for young people who are interested in moving away for sixth form or University.
During Lockdown I was messing around with ways to make money online. I opened my own online store selling false lashes and manage to make a decent profit in two months. Through this I did a huge amount of research into social media marketing and figured out to make profit the best way was to reach out to Tiktok and Instagram influencers. Overall, this experience showed me the path I want to go down after leaving high school. It taught me it’s good to explore into things you are unsure of and don’t be afraid of failing. If I didn’t mess around with creating my own online website I would not know what I wanted to do in sixth form.
